It’s one thing to get addicted to Mexican soaps—viva la telenovela—but when those colorful little fantasies have you completely in their grip, there’s no way to tell what’s imaginary and what’s real.
Miguel is a scriptwriter for the wildly popular telenovela “Destiny of Love”; Bracho is a cop and “Destiny” fanatic. One night fate throws them together, and Miguel escapes arrest only after telling Bracho he writes for “Destiny” and fills him in on what happens next. Trouble is, Ana, the star playing Gabriela, suddenly quits in a huff and the producers decide to kill off her character. Enraged at the apparent double-cross, Bracho hunts down Miguel and warns him that if Gabriela dies, so will he.
