Herein are stories of pure emotion: from a couple?s struggle over addiction, a veteran haunted by a wartime memory to a pair of lonely hearts with complementary fetishes. Relationships ebb, flow, dissolve and strengthen over lottery tickets, boxing matches and gun running to the Balkans. Dark emotions in one film are often leavened by moments of the absurd in the next.
