Tim, a comic book store clerk, and a group of misfits take a road trip to Chicago for a Fantasy/SciFi convention. As the journey wears on, Tim illustrates his elaborate idea to win the top D&D prize. Meanwhile, the travelers obtain firsthand experience in dealing with their own curses, using their own powers, and shedding the invisible armor that both hides and protects who they truly are. A debate ensues over whom or what is actually in control over their lives, as they encounter friends and foes on their travels.

Mixing humor with real life challenges, the film poses various questions are posed regarding choices- are they optional or required? Do God and Truth lie at opposite ends of the spectrum or merge somewhere in between?
