Dreaming Nicaragua

Running time: 60 mins

Four children combat poverty with art, imagination and smiles.

Although living conditions and poverty can be extreme in Nicaragua, young children still have hopes and dreams. Dreaming Nicaragua presents four children who, despite enduring hardships, happily pursue their ambitions and goals for a future to wherever their fertile imaginations take them.

A traveling arts teacher provides the safe haven for the children to express their creativity. Through their art, the kids escape the reality of their world and portray the joy and optimism that only youth can experience. Ignoring the surrounding environment of violence, child labor and hunger, the children face their lives with strength, humor and dignity.

With brilliant cinematography that highlights the beauty of the country, Dreaming Nicaragua is sometimes funny, other times moving and always inspirational. It will transport you into a child-like world where the human spirit soars.
