Taking a local basketball tournament to new heights. Few recreational opportunities exist for the nomadic people of Tibet, but basketball has become the pastime of choice for the young men who have learned the game by watching NBA games on TV when taking a break from their traditional work of herding yaks. When a former college basketball coach from the US forms a team with these men who are long on athleticism and enthusiasm, but short on strategic skills, he puts a an audacious plan into action: organize a basketball tournament among eight local teams.

Money, money, funny...in a rich man's world. The rich and the poor may share a neighborhood, but the invisible wall that separates them seems insurmountable. Yet, Matias and his friends find a way inside by breaking into a local mansion, "Los Ricos". Used to hardships and evictions, this mansion and its comforts are heaven to the boys. However, what starts as innocent fun, could have disastrous consequences. These kids may not be rich in stature, but their intellect, spirit, passion, and talent, make up for it. Celebrating the power of the spoken word in poetry, music, and film! Poetry Center San Jose partners with Cinequest to present an extraordinary Poets N Film night with support from Reed Magazine and Stabbydoll Media. The poet performers will bring on the stage poetry that challenges the heart and mind. Poets will dive into social and political warfare, skim the foamy cream of romance, and pluck the strings of a broken heart. The performances will involve dance, costume, projected visuals and live music with the unique sounds from the renowned local band Rebel's Kamp.
