Eva has just returned from a glorious few days at the beach with her lover. Upbeat and radiantly in love, she says a few words to her neighbor before stepping inside her nondescript flat. And it is there, inside her apartment, we witness both the unraveling of a love affair and the emotional state of a yearning woman, who just might be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Displaying an intense virtuosity, Patricia Kovacs is mesmerizing in a role that has her dominating the screen, primarily with the use of internal dialogue and phone conversations to her unseen lover.

Director Gy?rgy P?lfi's debut film is a masterpiece of intricacies that is part murder mystery, part nature documentary, and part experimental film. The theme may be difficult to define, but it is exactly the unconventional nature of the narrative that makes this film so spellbinding. Perhaps the most peculiar, yet fascinating, aspect of Hukkle is that it is dialogue free, but it is far from a silent film.

Bewildered at first, Aaron is punished by the other boys but is soon accepted as a fellow sufferer. The director of the home is a devoutly religious martinet and takes every opportunity to punish the boys-a crime in a communist state.

"Visually powerful and dramatically potent." - David Stratton (Variety) In his film, Passion, Hungarian director Gyorgy Feher transposes James M. Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice to 1930s Hungary with the exquisitely beautiful Ildiko Bansagi as the sensual young woman who conspires to free herself from a loveless marriage. Beautifully adhering to the classic noir tale, the story begins with the drifter already in the employ of the woman's husband. The remainder of the film is more faithful to Cain's tale, as passion leads to betrayal and murder.
