On May 13, 2000, Eusebio de Haro, a young Mexican migrant, was shot and killed in Texas during one of his journeys north. The signpost at the beginning of El Inmigrante shows a high number of such occurrences, but this deeply humanitarian story focuses on Haro?s death to examine the Mexico-U.S. border crisis with particular scrupulousness.

"What do you know about an Irish Circus?"

As a writer and a poet, I was always interested in the link between performance and one's native culture. Ireland has produced such a rich history of exceptional artists that it was interesting to me what kinds of bridges there were between past traveling artisans, and the lifestyle of performance artists today.

The circus is such a mystical lifestyle that it was interesting to be able to find a group of circus people who were living like they had for hundreds of years.

Having recently taken a job busing tables at a trendy downtown restaurant, she spends most of her free time reading, day-dreaming and composing the sprawling, noisy, experimental sound-scapes that she performs for no one in particular in city subway stations.
